A Poem by KM Taylor
Knit me a new heart
‘Cause mine is broken down
Yarn may hold up better
Than the flimsy stuff
This fragile thing is made of
Knit me a new heart
This one is paper thin
Worn down by years of
Tugging and neglect
It’s time to discard it for another
Knit me a new heart
One more flexible and fresh
Resilient to destruction
Filled with joy and peace
Edified with strength to protect
Knit me a new heart
One without these cracks
Without the rot and the tears
Free of those snares
A fortress to withstand this broken world…
